   Make sure the cage you get is big enough for the canary. Get the biggest cage you can find. The cage should be big enough for all the supplies, for the canary to fly in and for the canary to play in.

   Feed your canary healthy foods. Feeding it high quality birdseed and dark leafy greens will insure that it stays healthy. Put some vitamin supplement in the dark leafy greens.

   Canaries love water. Give them a bowl of water for them to drink. Add a bigger bowl of water for the canary to splash in.

   Play with your canary every day. Canaries love entertainment.Put a bird swing in its cage. They would also like to play with some toys. They like to rip toys made out of rope or feathers.

   Canaries only sleep when it is dark. If it is not dark at night cover the cage with a blanket. The place where it sleeps should have one wall so it feels safe. It should also be quiet.
